Based on an extensive primary research conducted with the help of passionate educators and governmental officials, we have realized that arithmetic is one of the most enduring pathways of social mobility in India since most competitive exams require the same.

However, students still struggle with basic arithmetic operations such as 1-digit and 2-digit addition, subtraction, multiplication and division even post reaching high school. This is true in schools in remote parts of the country as well as schools in urban pockets.

MyLQ started as simple arithmetic lessons for people belonging to different socio economic backgrounds across age groups. It has scaled into not just a campaign with arithmetic at its core but also four consulting arms: Competency Development : MyResonance | People and Organization Performance : MySmiles | Sustainability and Geopolitics : MyLEAP | Organizational Development and SME Operating Models : MyTorch

The Idea

Speed as a social equalizer: In education, the ability to work quickly can offset systemic privilege, enabling students to complete tasks efficiently, achieve higher scores, and access greater opportunities. Trainable, not innate: Research shows speed can be developed. In today’s competitive world, cultivating it is vital for both personal advancement and social progress. Deliberate system-building: While private institutions foster speed through feedback and practice, public systems often focus on minimum outcomes. Embedding speed as a developmental goal can unlock potential and create more equitable opportunities.
